"Hindi po ako 'yung blind item na 'yun," Aiko Melendez clarifies that she had no past relationship with Rudy Fernandez.
Aiko Melendez cleared her side when asked by a netizen if she had a past relationship with the late actor Rudy Fernandez.
This was one of the questions she answered in the unboxing video vlog of her Silver Play Button from YouTube.
The question was: "[Were you] the blind item of Nanay Lolit and Cristy Fermin yesterday during their show Take It Per Minute Me Ganun [?] Is it true that [you] had a relationship with Rudy Fernandez?"
Aiko responded, "Ano ba, hindi po ako 'yung blind item na 'yun."
"Ako po ay hindi nagi-guilty po na sabihin sa inyo o aminin, wala po kaming naging relasyon ni kuya Daboy.
"In fact, naka-work ko lang po siya isang beses sa 'Kamay ni Cain,' that was like 20 years ago so I was only 18 years old at that time.
"So impossible po na maging kami ni Daboy dahil si Ms Lorna Tolentino po ay close po sa amin, nakakausap ko, at hindi ko po naging value na mang-agaw po ng may taong married na o may asawa.
"So hindi po ako 'yun, baka iba 'yun."
In the October 20 episode of the online talk show Take It... Per Minute, Me Ganun?, hosted by Lolit Solis, Cristy Fermin, and Mr. Fu, Manay Lolit shared a showbiz story in the past, involving Rudy Fernandez.
She said, "Noong time na 'yun, dalawa 'yung girlfriend ni Daboy. Eh, si Alma [Moreno] non, akala magkakabalikan pa sila ni Rudy [Fernandez]."
"May chinuchugi si Rudy doon sa bahay, akala ni Alma, si Lorna [Tolentino] 'yun, galit na galit kay Lorna.
"Hindi niya alam, ibang babae, ibang girl. Artista rin."
The veteran talent manager and showbiz columnist also shared what happened during Rudy's wake. The veteran actor died on June 7, 2008.
Manay Lolit added, "Ito pa, patuloy ng kuwento. Na-dead ang aktor, e, di sinabi sa jowa, 'Mamaya po pupunta sila ma'am, dadalaw po dito sa wake.'"
"Maldita 'yung jowa, day. Ang ginawa, alam niyang darating ha, 4 o'clock ng hapon, pinaliis niya 'yung bangkay, pinabihisan.
"Day, 4 o'clock dumating kasama 'yung mga director, mga artista ng chuchu nandoon. Nine na nang gabi, hindi pa rin lumalabas.
"Sabi kong ganun, 'Ano ba yan, bat ngayon mo pinabihisan? 'Di ba alam mo darating? Bakit ngayon mo pinabihisan.
"'Bakit? Noon ako naghihintay, mag-intay siya ngayon."
