In a significant step toward strengthening mental health support in the local entertainment sector, AKTOR — League of Filipino Actors has formalized a partnership with MindNation to provide comprehensive, long-term mental health services to its members.
The collaboration ensures AKTOR members will have access to confidential, evidence-based mental health support, including 24/7 teletherapy sessions with licensed professionals, crisis support, and mental health education initiatives. The program also includes preventive tools such as mental health assessments, and well-being workshops.
“At AKTOR, we treasure partnerships with organizations that believe in our people as much as we do. We're always inspired when we join forces with like-minded groups who understand that behind every performance is a human being who deserves care and support. Mental health has long been a quiet but constant concern in our community, and working with MindNation allows us to bring that conversation into the light. This partnership helps our actors stand stronger, not just as performers but as individuals, so they can continue creating with confidence and dignity as proud Filipino actors. Together, we're building a culture where Filipino performers feel seen, supported, empowered, and proud, onscreen and off.” said Dingdong Dantes, Chairman of AKTOR.

Beyond service delivery, the partnership is rooted in advocacy. MindNation and AKTOR aim to harness the influence and reach of the entertainment community to help normalize conversations around mental health. Through co-created campaigns, initiatives, and public engagements, the collaboration seeks to use the credibility and platform of respected industry voices to dismantle stigma, encourage early help-seeking behavior, and model responsible mental health practices.
Echoing this commitment to proactive care, Iza Calzado-Wintle, President of AKTOR, emphasized that mental well-being must be treated with the same urgency as physical health.
“Unlike many physical illnesses, mental health struggles are not always visible or measurable. A person may already be overwhelmed or close to breaking, and no one - not even they themselves - may recognize it. That is why we cannot afford to wait for a crisis before taking action. The goal is to keep our mental health strong and supported from the start. We need the right tools, resources, and safe spaces to do that. At AKTOR, we are deeply grateful for this partnership with MindNation. It allows us to provide our members with meaningful, proactive support so they can care for their well-being - not only as artists, but as individuals.”
For MindNation, the partnership underscores its commitment to destigmatizing mental health and making care accessible across all sectors, including the entertainment industry. Cat Triviño, Co-Founder and Chief Product and Data Officer of MindNation, shared:
“Mental health challenges are often invisible, yet they affect performance, relationships, and quality of life. Through this collaboration with AKTOR, we aim to normalize conversations around mental well-being, promote early help-seeking, and demonstrate that prioritizing mental health is a sign of strength, professionalism, and self-respect.”
