Lola Linda, Alden Richards’ grandmother, is already a television personality as she joined him as an endorser in the most recent Neozep commercial.
In the press con for the Unilab product yesterday (March 16) in Mario’s Tomas Morato, she shared how ironically, they became closer as a family when her grandson gained popularity.
“Nagkakaroon kami ng [mas] madalas na bonding kasi si Alden, he makes it a point na kailangan uuwi siya kung may time siya,” Lola Linda said.
On occasions, however, that he wouldn’t be able to join them because of work engagements, he still makes sure that his family gets to relax and go on occasional getaways.
“[Sa Holy Week], I’ll be going to Canada to have a concert. I’ll be leaving then but I arranged something [for them]… para mag-relax naman sila somewhere in Batangas. Hindi ko sila puwedeng iwan ng walang ginagawa or hindi sila makagpag-bonding… [Alam ko lang na] magsasama sila, okay na ako. Makiki-Viber na lang ako,” he shared.
The self-confessed family-oriented actor said that he got into show business because of his late mom’s dream, and he’s striving to do better in the industry to give his grandmother, dad and siblings a comfortable life.
His success now, he highlighted, isn’t driven by the desire for fame, but is all for the welfare of the most important people in his life.
“Ngayon naman po, nabibigyan ko naman po ng maginhawang buhay ang pamilya ko. I’m able to give them a stress-free life without [worrying kung] ano ang mangyayari [the next day]. They’re secured kumbaga… so I’m very happy,” he added.
