Leveling up his fitness journey, Alden Richards just took on one of the toughest climbs.
Asia's Multimedia Star and Box Office King took to Instagram to share a clip of his journey through one of his “most difficult” rides, as he braved the grueling 31-kilometer ”Passo dello Stelvio” or Stelvio Pass in Italy.
“One of my most difficult rides so far,” he began.
He mentioned that Stelvio Pass is “a place where pro cyclists train with the likes of Tadej Pogačar and others.”
Despite having “no flat roads, only climbs, with gradients [of a] minimum of 4% and a maximum of 16% for 31 km," Alden pushed through to finish his ride.
“I almost gave up, lungs struggling, legs collapsing, thoughts in conflict,” he said. “But then I realized why I started this. These are moments I can call my own, my bike, my endurance, my skills, my climbs.”
He continued, “At the end of the day, my only competitor is myself…no one else.”
The Stars on the Floor host described Stelvio as “very painful.” However, he revealed that he has learned a great deal on this journey and will definitely “come back for you, better and stronger.”
“Chi va piano, va sicuro e lontano [He who goes slowly, goes safely and far],” he wrote.
At the end of his post, he shared, “P.S. Cried in silence while eating a hotdog sandwich after reaching the finish line.”
In a separate Instagram post, Alden also shared a clip of himself riding through the beauty of Tuscany, Italy.
“What a route,” he wrote.
