Why does this restaurant have a special spot in AlDub's heart?

Even with their busy schedule, Alden Richards makes sure he gets to spend time with Maine Mendoza outside work.

During a thanksgiving party he threw for members of the press, the Kapuso actor-host admitted that he and Maine have found a favorite date spot in Spiral Manila, Sofitel Philippine Plaza.

“May isang hotel [restaurant] po… Dun po 'yung safe zone namin when we go out so dun ko po siya lagi dinadala,” he said.

After their love team anniversary last July 16, he took her there to talk about what they’ve been through so far.

“We went out po after ng anniversary talaga, then nagkaroon po kami ng recap ng mga nangyari sa buhay namin, na ang laki na po talaga ng pinagbago, ng changes,” he added.

Alden shared that Maine’s sweet Instagram post was published after the conversations they had during that particular date.

 

Meeting you was fate; it was wonderful, it was miraculous, it was extraordinary and indeed sweet serendipity. For some, it was nothing but luck and plain coincidence; but for me it was something revelatory about the notion that miracles like this do exist. God made our story extra special; He let everybody witness every single thing from the very beginning. It was something unexplainable. I glanced and smiled at you and all I could do was wonder how did that simple smile changed both our worlds. It changed everything–it changed us. What happened on the 16th day of July 2015 will live on in people's hearts until the end of time. We might not know what the future holds but you should know that no matter what happens, you already have this special place in my heart. “Nangyari po 'yun after namin po mag-usap… Si Maine po talaga kasi talagang, ano siya eh, social media baby. So basically, lahat po ng nararamdaman niya, most of the time po, sa social media nakikita,” he shared.

The Kapuso leading man was surprised with what his love team partner wrote and expressed gratefulness for her and what she said.

“Nakapag-usap po kami before that post and then nagulat na lang po ako na after that conversation, biglang nag-post ng ganun. I’m very thankful for that,” he declared.
