Kapuso stars shone brightly after picking up plum awards at the 2nd Village Pipol Choice Awards, which had a virtual awarding ceremonies on March 6 via Facebook Live.

The VP Choice Awards (VPCA) is an award-giving body which gives recognition to the brightest stars in showbiz, to brands that excel in their industry, and to deserving individuals who show brilliance in their craft.

Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards's December 2020 Village Pipol cover was hailed as "Cover of the Year", while Prima Donnas actress Sofia Pablo's feature was declared "Spotlight of the Year."

Award-winning actress Jennylyn Mercado earned the TV Actress of the Year award for her turn as Dr. Maxine in the Pinoy-adaptation of the hit Koreanovela series Descendants of the Sun, which ended its run on Christmas day itself in 2020.

In 2019, Alden Richards also took home the trophy for Movie Actor of the Year for his film, Hello, Love, Goodbye.

Talented tween star and vlogger Sofia Pablo is one of the fastest-rising stars in the Kapuso Network. She was part of the high-rating afternoon drama series Prima Donnas, which will return this year for its Book Two.

The winners of the VP Choice Awards were determined by online voting, Facebook shares, and a panel of experts and the magazine's editorial team.

VP Choice awards voting period happened from January 15, 2021 to February 15, 2021.
