Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards is one of the Kapuso stars who paid tribute to the late actress Jaclyn Jose at her wake last Friday.
Alden Richards turned emotional while paying tribute to the internationally acclaimed star Jaclyn Jose, who died on March 2, 2024, on her wake last Friday, March 8.
In a 24 Oras Weekend report, various Kapuso artists and executives paid their respects to the late actress at her wake and paid tribute.
The Pulang Araw star couldn't help feeling emotional as he revealed that Jaclyn's passing made him feel the same feeling he felt when his mom died.
“We all know how Tita Jane loves unconditionally. So 'yung nga po. Parang ngayon, 'yung nararamdaman ko po ngayon is the same feeling I felt when my mom left us… Tita Jane, paki-hello na lang po ako sa nanay ko diyan,” he said.
“Naulila na naman po ako ulit. Thank you for all the memories and thank you for bringing out the best in me. I love you so much,” the Sparkle actor went on.
Alden and Jaclyn worked together in the romance drama series The World Between Us on GMA.
Aside from Alden, Kapuso star Andrea Torres also remembered the late award-winning actress. She said, “Cannes Best Actress, 'di ba? Pero hindi mo siya mararamdaman ng gano'n. Talagang equal niya pakisamahan lahat ng mga tao.”
Meanwhile, seasoned actress Gladys Reyes recalled how Jaclyn was the one who popularized the “kalma acting.”
“'Yung may halo siyang monotone pero punong-puno ng emosyon. Hindi kailangan tumulo ng luha pero 'yun kasing sa mga mata niya, 'di ba? Tumatagos na 'yung emosyon,” she expressed.
Actress and Pasig City Councilor Angelu De Leon added, “She's a gem, So nakakalungkot na nawalan tayo ng isang haligi na naman ng industriya.”
“She's a woman and an actress who lived her life to the fullest in every little way,” said veteran actress and director Laurice Guillen.
Former actress and Jaclyn's daughter, Andi Eigenmann, expressed her gratitude to everyone who loved her mom.
“Every night, it warms my heart to know how much everybody loved my mother,” the celebrity mom said.
She added, “It's so amazing for me to see how much you guys loved her so much. Thank you.”
