Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards is a certified fur dad!

That's why it was not a surprise when he agreed to do the newest Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) campaign called 'I Love My Aspin,' which aims to inform the public how we can better take care of our Aspins.

For those who don't know, Alden is a proud owner of a seven-year-old Aspin named Chichi.

Alden told 24 Oras that he grew up in an environment where he was surrounded by people who really loved dogs.

He said, “Well kasi 'yung family talaga namin--from my mom to my dad, to all my siblings up to our relatives lahat kami dog lovers.

“Growing up exposed na kami sa mga aso talaga. Marami kaming mga Aspins noong mga bata kami, kasama na talaga namin sila growing up.”

Part of the 'I Love My Aspin' campaign is another Kapuso, international fashion icon Heart Evangelista.

The Start-Up PH actor further talked about this project with PAWS.

“Kapag may breed 'yung aso, galing sa ganitong bansa, kailangan dinadala sa Vet etcetera, etcetera,” Alden explained.

“Bakit hindi rin puwede sa Aspin 'yun? Bakit 'pag Aspin laging ang ipapakain natin 'yung leftover food, 'yung tira, 'yung puwede na lang, tapos itatali natin, ikukulong natin?

“What I'm really trying to say is for us to give fair treatment to these dogs. Kasi at the end of the day lahat naman sila aso,e.”
