In two separate regional events over the weekend, the lead stars of GMA Telebabad shows Destined To Be Yours and Meant To Be brought the house down as they celebrated the Balangay and Magayon Festivals in Agusan del Norte and Bicol, respectively.

The phenomenal love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza flew to Butuan last May 19 and led the Kapuso Fiesta as part of the annual Balangay Festival. The two, who play Benjie and Sinag in the hit series Destined To Be Yours, did not disappoint thousands of fans who flocked to the Libertad Sports Complex in Butuan City. The audience bore witness to the romantic banter between Alden and Maine just like what they see on the Telebabad program.

This was the first time Alden and Maine went to Butuan and fans were ecstatic to welcome their idols.  Some even came from Cagayan de Oro, Davao, and other nearby areas to see AlDub that day. Joining Alden and Maine were Eat Bulaga’s That’s My Bae Joel Palencia, Jon Timmons, Tommy Peñaflor, and Miggy Tolentino.

In Legazpi, Albay last May 20, the Penaranda Park was jam-packed with fans who were eager to see the men of Meant To Be—Ken Chan, Addy Raj, Ivan Dorschner, and Jak Roberto—together with their co-star Mika dela Cruz.

Throngs of Kapusong Bicolanos waited patiently as Ken, Addy, Ivan, Jak, and Mika took the stage for their respective song and dance numbers. Shouts and shrieks from excited fans greeted the Kapuso stars during the Kapuso Fiesta. The MTB cast, in turn, made sure the audience had a memorable night as a way of thanking them for their continued support to Meant To Be.

“We are elated to get this very warm welcome from our Kapusong Butuanon and Kapusong Bicolano,” says Oliver Amoroso, Officer-in-Charge of GMA’s Regional TV Department. “We cannot express how grateful we are to our loyal Kapuso for keeping GMA Network number one nationwide. This is why we continue to bring our programs on regional tours. We owe our success to our boss—the viewers—and it’s only right that we bring them closer to their favorite stars such as AlDub and the MTB cast,” he adds.
