Alexa Miro has finally landed her first horror film!
The actress shared disturbing experiences while making Strange Frequencies in Taiwan. However, despite those, she is already excited to do another horror film.
"Mas gusto ko pang ma-experience yung mas malalim pa, yung mga challenging na mga roles in terms of horror."
She highlighted, "For example, possession with the Vatican and stuff like that."
While making the film, Alexa said she deeply understood and respected Taiwan's culture. She also wanted to research more about different cultures to pay respect and to portray her role even better.
"Alam ko na hindi dapat ginagawa kung wala lang, kung gusto mo lang. You have to have respect for religion and beliefs," she said.
The actress also shared her unique discoveries while shooting in Taiwan. She said they did Taoism prayer every day before the shoot and had sticks and bows thrice in every direction.
For Alexa, it was not just an ordinary kind of horror film. The film taught her lifelong learnings.
"In real life, I would not want people that I care about to be harmed, no matter how much I want to finish what I started. May ugali kasi ako na kapag may sinimulan ako, gusto ko siyang matapos."
However, after making the film, it changed her perspective.
She added, "Kunwari work mode ako, kahit hindi ako makakain, gusto ko natatapos muna pero kapag may other people involved na, siguro dapat natin laging isipin 'yung mga kasama natin.”
Since it was her first horror film, Alexa did everything and even watched almost all horror movies to prepare.
"Having done it myself, it was very refreshing."
In the film, she will be working with Rob Gomez for the second time. She said she was happy to be working with the actor again.
“Kasi after ng A Girl and a Guy, best friends na kami, alam na namin 'yung kalokohan ng isa't isa," she added.
“Even though we don't hang out a lot anymore, we trust each other with anything that's going on in our lives."
Alexa, along with Rob Gomez, Enrique Gil, Jane De Leon, beauty queen MJ Lastimosa, real-life tarot reader Raf Pineda, and content creator Ryan "Zarckaroo" Azurin, will star in the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival entry Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital.
