With more than two decades in the entertainment industry, AraBella star Alfred Vargas can definitely tell if someone has star quality, and according to him, his co-stars Shayne Sava and Althea Ablan have enough of it to headline a primetime show.

During an interview with GMANetwork.com, Alfred expressed his amazement at the skills of his two young co-stars.

“Si Shayne Sava and Althea Ablan, bilib ako sa kanila and there's something to really watch and something to really look forward to,” he said.

Alfred had previously worked with Shayne on Legal Wives, and he says that since then she has only improved when it comes to her acting.

“Nung nagkita kami ulit, ang laki ng maturity. Ang laki ng improvement. Magaling na siya before pero dito sa AraBella ang layo ng narating niya,” he said.

Meanwhile, while Alfred had only previously seen Althea on Primadonnas, he shared that he can only see a bright acting future for her.

“She's very versatile. Kaya niyang magbida-kontrabida, at the same time kahit kontrabida siya mamahalin mo pa rin siya,” he explained. “For me as an actor, that's very hard to achieve. Puwede siyang maging Sunshine Dizon balang araw.”

Alfred also expressed his happiness at the high ratings that AraBella has been enjoying, describing it as a great return to television for him.

“I feel prime, I feel like it is primetime talaga. Sa sobrang taas ng ratings napapantayan niya 'yung primetime na primetime,” he shared. “Totoo yung sinasabi nilang Afternoon Prime. I just feel so happy and blessed to be part of this show. It's a very good comeback for me.”

In upcoming episodes, Alfred teased that there will be brewing romantic tension between the characters he, Wendell Ramos, Camille Prats, and Klea Pineda play.

“Napaka-charming nung character ni Camille at hindi natin maiiwasan na magkakagusto sa kanya si Ariel, 'yung character ko. Pero hindi rin natin maiiwasan na magkagusto sa kanya si Gary, 'yung character ni Wendell. 'Yun 'yung pwede nilang abangan. Meron pang Gwen na character ni Klea Pineda. Hindi lang love triangle kundi love square,” he promised.
