Nag-uumapaw sa pride at kasiyahan si Alfred Vargas at kanyang maybahay na si Yasmine, matapos makapag-uwi ng ilang medals ang kanilang anak na si Alfredo Cristiano Vargas IV.

Wagi ng 2 golds, 1 silver, 1 bronze si Cristiano sa nagdaang Rise 2 - Swim Battle "The Pool Gladiators," laban sa 15 na bata sa Novice/D and Class A B C na kategorya. Idinaos ang naturang sporting event noong May 24, sa Philippine Columbian Association sa Paco, Manila.

Sa kanyang Instagram post, ipinaalala ni Alfred sa kanyang anak ang kahalagahan ng pagpupursige at disiplina para makamit niya ang kanyang mga pangarap sa buhay.

"Wow! 2 golds, 1 silver, 1 bronze!!! So so proud of you, anak 💙🙌🏼

"But beyond your medals, what I truly find rewarding is seeing your perseverance, hard work, discipline, always trying your best and never giving up no matter what character. I see the fight in you. Your grit. Your passion. We are mighty proud of you, Cristiano!"

Malaki rin ang pasasalamat ni Alfred Vargas sa kanyang misis na si Yasmine na naging masugid na supporter at cheerleader ng kanilang unico hijo simula nang mag-aral ito ng swimming two years ago.

"I thank your mom @yasmine_vargas2307 for always being there for you since the beginning of your swimming journey. From your hot and humid trainings to organizing your things and schedule to cheering for you with all her heart, she was there for you the whole time."

Hindi ito ang first time para kay Cristiano na sumali sa isang swimming competiton. Noong April, sumabak na rin ang bata sa kanyang first "ABC swim meet."

Makikita sa Instagram post ni Yasmine na nandoon sila noong April para mapanood si Cristiano.

"You've made us all so proud by taking home the Most Outstanding Swimmer Award along with a gold, two silver medals and 2 bronze. Your hard work truly paid off!

"While you were relaxed and bubbly during your practices, you knew how to switch gears when it was 'game time'. You did your best when it mattered at you once again showed your fortitude.

"Your 100m individual medley was absolutely amazing! Grabe! Napabilib mo talaga kami! Another wonderful thing we saw this whole time is your passion to practice and improve your skills everyday."

Hindi rin nakalimutan ng former Encantadia star na pasalamatan ang swimming coaches ni Cristiano.

"Thanks also to your very competent and supportive coaches in Sharknado! Your athletic development is in good hands indeed.

"Onto the next challenges ahead! Cheers!"

Maidagdag ito sa "big wins" ni Alfred Vargas at kanyang pamilya. Matatandaan na nanalo naman si Alfred Vargas sa kanyang re-election bid para sa pagka-Councilor ng 5th District ng Quezon City nitong huling eleksyon. Kasabay din nito ang pagkapanalo ng kanyang kapatid na si Patrick Michael "PM" Vargas sa pagka-kongresista para sa parehong distrito.

Fierce competitive swimmers din ang ate ni Cristiano na sina Alexandra Milan at Aryana Cassandra na may kanya-kanyang medalya rin sa swimming.
