Birthdays are typically reserved for slowing down, taking a break, and letting everyone else do the pampering. For Alfred Vargas, however, celebrating another year around the sun took a familiar back seat to standard family duties.
Instead of hosting a lavish blowout or taking time off for himself, the actor-politician spent his actual birthday right where his kids needed him most: on the sidelines, loudly cheering for his son Cristiano during a recent swimming competition.
The low-key celebration didn't go unnoticed by his wife, Yasmine Vargas, who took to Instagram to share a sweet tribute highlighting her husband's dedication as a father.
"Belated happy birthday, amore @alfredvargasofficial ! ❤️" Yasmine wrote in her post. "You spent your special day cheering for Cristiano and supporting his dreams instead of making the day about yourself. That's the kind of dad you are, always showing up for our children and celebrating their little and big wins."
She went on to express her appreciation for his constant presence in their children's lives. "Thank you for loving our kids the way you do and for being one of their biggest supporters. I hope one day, when they look back on these memories, they'll realize just how lucky they are to have you as their dad. We love you so much! ❤️ Thank you for making this happen for him and for all the sacrifices you've made. ❤️"
Supporting their kids' milestones seems to be a non-stop affair for the couple lately. Just a day before Alfred's own special day, the Vargas household marked another major moment: their eldest daughter, Alexandra Milan, officially turned 16.
Having a dalagita in the house brought out all the nostalgia for Yasmine, who reflected on how quickly time flies when raising a firstborn.
"How are you already 16? 🤍 It feels like only yesterday you were my little girl, and now you're growing into such a beautiful young lady," Yasmine shared on Instagram alongside family photos.
Calling Alexandra her "first love" and "right hand," Yasmine candidly opened up about her daughter's personality at home—including the typical sibling dynamics that every parent of multiple kids knows all too well.
"Sometimes, mainit ang ulo mo with your siblings, but I know that no matter how much you tease them, get annoyed with them, or argue with them, you will always have their backs. When it matters, you are their big sister, their protector, and someone they can always count on. And that is something I will always be proud of," Yasmine wrote.
Mommy Yasmine reminded her panganay: "No matter how old you get or how far life takes you, Mommy will always be your protector, your safe place, and the one cheering for you through every chapter of your life."
Alfred Vargas also dedicated a sweet Instagram post to his eldest daughter, noting the special bond they share—especially given that their birthdays fall just one day apart.
"Happy birthday, my dearest Alexandra 💙🎂 You made me a dad 16 years ago, exactly a day before my birthday," Alfred shared. "Since then, you have been my constant reminder that life is beautiful, meaningful, and that being a father is the greatest thing in the world."
He ended his message with a few words of wisdom for Alex as she steps into her late teens: "As you enter this new chapter, always keep God at the center of your life. Trust Him. Pray regularly. And let your faith guide you through every goal, challenge, and decision. Keep dreaming big, Alex. Stay grounded and always remember that Dad will always be here for you."
