It was supposed to be a day of celebration for Legal Wives star Alice Dixson after she got fully vaccinated against COVID-19 on May 20. The actress received her second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
However, on Instagram, a netizen questioned her eligibility for the said COVID-19 vaccine. Alice got the second vaccine dose in the City of Manila.
If you remember, Alice traveled to the United States a few weeks ago to pick up her daughter, Baby Aura, to bring to the Philippines.
In another post on Instagram on April 8, she announced that she already got her first shot of the Pfizer vaccine.
A netizen commented on Alice's Instagram page and alluded that the Legal Wives star got "special treatment."
Part of the comment reads, “Clearly sa vaccination sites, kung wala kang record ng first dose sa Manila at walang tatak 'yung vaccination card mo, hindi ka puwede ng second dose.
“Bakit pag artista may exemptions? Pinoy siya, pinoy ka rin, pinoy rin ako, pinoy rin 'yung mga namamatay na hindi nakakuha ng bakuna. Equal citizens lang po tayo so dapat lahat tayo sumunod sa sistema.”
Alice directly responded to the netizen's insinuation that she got "special treatment," because of her celebrity status.
She explained, “Given your account is private and possibly a troll I normally would not respond, but for the sake of others who are waiting for vaccinations pa, I'll humor you for their benefit.”
“Puwede ko lang i-add: Our systems serve as a guide as a general rule; however in cases of extenuating circumstances requiring eg. Someone to return back to their country of origin, shouldn't our system be flexible? Remove the 'artista' or special treatment out of the equation…
“Paano ka for example if you were in my shoes? What would you do? Ako kasi, inabangan ko po talaga ang pagdating ng Pfizer sa Pilipinas kaya nagregister din ako like everyone. Then shinare ko dito 'yun sites and link process.
“Other Kababayans do not need Pfizer and can still get other brands as guided in the public info links provided. Know that everything will work itself out because more vaccines are coming & everyone will get vaccinated. Wala po masasayang. Stay safe.”
