The Write One actress Alma Concepcion is beaming with pride as she shared with her Facebook followers that her son, Richard Cobie Puno, graduated cum laude at the Fordham University in New York.

Cobie is Alma's son with ex-partner, businessman Dody Puno. The former earned a degree in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Primary Concentrations in Social Innovation & Marketing, minor in Economics.

In her lengthy post on Facebook, the versatile actress recalled the day when Cobie told them that he is graduating cum laude.

The former beauty queen remembered, “Evening of May 17, 2023 - I will never ever forget this momentous event in our lives as a family.

“Cobie breaking the news that he made it as Cum Laude in a university that never even entered in my wildest dreams for him to consider. Fordham University in New York!”

She added that growing up, her son never gave her any headache and admitted that she got the surprise of her life - when Cobie confirmed with her that after graduating high school he got accepted in a university abroad.

“Cobie grew up hardworking, focused, disciplined, obedient, prayerful, funny, playful (I can go on & on), sweet, empathetic… but the most impactful attitude of his is his kindness & meekness,” Alma said. “I braced myself for the terrible two's, the rebellious teenage years- anticipated all of those! But he NEVER gave those!”

“In High School, he started developing his discipline muscles even more independently since we were both studying. I think seeing my matured way of studying helped during those formative years. I remember the saying 'Children won't listen to you but they will imitate you.' I think, as i look back in retrospect, that was a moment in our lives that I was subliminally teaching him 'discipline,'” she added.

“And after his graduation, I was shocked when he broke the news to me that he passed a university abroad. I said to myself 'what?! Ganun lang?' In a snap of a finger, i was cut-off from becoming a mom? I planned my whole life to be a mother! And then poof - one day/ one second, it's over?”

Mommy Alma also took the opportunity to thank Cobie for making parenting a hassle-free one saying, “Thank you Cobie for making parenting such a smooth ride for me. Thank you for being so meek & so kind. Your intelligence is just the icing on the cake. Job well done my son. Thank you for being who you are!”

Alma bagged the title of Bb. Pilipinas-International in 1994 and graduated at the University of the Philippines with a degree in interior design.
