After flying as a manananggal in “Over My Half Body,” Althea Ablan is back with another magical character in the summer special of Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko.

Althea portrays the role of Winnie, while Zephanie plays the character of Lucy in the new story “Mga Hero ni Jiro.” The duo are golden statues that magically becomes alive with the help of the protagonist Jiro, portrayed by Marco Masa, who is a bullying victim in school.

Joining the three in this multi-episode story are Sean Lucas, Chuckie Dreyfus, Geleen Eugenio, Ariel Villasanta, and Chanel Latorre.

In her exclusive chat with GMANetwork.com, Althea stated that doing Daig Kayo Ng Lola is a special moment for her, since she gets to fulfill her dream roles.

The Sparkle actress explained, “Always looking forward ako na magkaroon ng new episode/character with Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko, lagi nga nila sinasabi sa 'kin na maliit palang daw ako nag-giguest na ako sa DKNLK at talagang hindi ko malilimutan yun dahil bata palang ako nagkaroon na ako ng role na may powers-powers, zombie, manananggal, at ngayon as gold statue naman.”

“It's always fun working with DKNLK family and lahat memorable dahil mas nakaka-explore pa ako ng iba't ibang character and dream ko na talaga siya bata palang ako na magkaroon ng fantasy stories.”

Althea added that they hope to send a message to viewers who will be watching the journey of Hiro about conquering their own fears.

“It's about being strong, kung paano ka tumayo sa sarili mong paa para labanan yung mga kinakatakutan mo,” she shared.

Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko is directed by the highly-esteemed Rico Gutierrez and you can watch it every Saturday, 6:15 p.m. only here on GMA-7!
