'Grey's Anatomy' actor Eric Dane passes away.
American actor Eric Dane passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
His family announced the news of his death, which was also confirmed by multiple news outlets.
He was 53 years old and died due to complications from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or ALS, a condition he publicly revealed in April 2025.
Following his diagnosis, he used his platform to raise awareness about the disease.
He was best known for his role as Dr. Mark Sloan, widely known as McSteamy, in the hit medical drama Grey's Anatomy.
The actor, born in 1972, tied the knot with Rebecca Gayheart in 2004.
The couple is blessed with two lovely daughters, Billie and Georgia.
