Social news and entertainment company Buzzfeed brought together a group of Americans who were made to decode what the AlDub phenomenon is all about.

They watched the first Eat Bulaga! episode that started the craze and had to react to it, despite not understanding the Filipino language.

The participants were first clueless, saying “I’m so lost,” and “I feel like a detective, trying to figure out what’s going on.” They also described Alden Richards as cute and hot, and tried imitating the mannerisms of Yaya Dub.

A few minutes into the episode, they began understanding what the hype was all about.

“I get it. We’re watching an unlikely couple go through the early stages of a romance. That awkward phase where it’s like how do I communicate? Should I text? No wait, I’ll send her a Dubsmash,” a participant said.

Even after watching just one episode and noticing the trends on Twitter over the past few months, his companion made a conclusion that the love team has made history with the millions of fans rooting for them.

“This is the most shipped couple of all time,” he declared.

One even said that Eat Bulaga! trumps American shows like Desperate Housewives and Parks and Recreation. “Eat Bulaga! is coming to the States,” he said.
