Andi Eigenmann has had enough of Philmar Alipayo's bashers questioning his intentions in helping victims of Typhoon Odette in Siargao.
Actress Andi Eigenmann came to the defense of fiance Philmar Alipayo who has been accused by bashers of portioning from donation money for typhoon victims.
In an Instagram story posted on December 20, Andi wrote, "@chepoxz just got back to Siargao and left me and the kids behind with a heavy heart in order to go and see our family and see what more we could do to help. When he got a seat on the @sunlight_air plane as a volunteer, we also asked beforehand if he was allowed to bring some boxes with him so he could readily bring food and other essentials to his family and our loved ones there. They said yes.”
"It is very sad to know that he is accused of stealing when he even specifically ignored his chance to use his platform to ask for them, since he's more than willing to use his own money just to help our community out," she said.
"Just so hurtful that it always seems to be so hard to believe that my fiance has his own money to spend too because he works to earn it," she added. ”Before he left, I kept telling him to take care. And he kept assuring me he will be ok by saying, 'Mahal, I am used to having nothing. We are used to having no bed to sleep on, no aircon, no purified water, and no proper food to eat. I will be ok.'"
Andi also clarified that it was not @sunlight_air that made the allegations.
Andi and Philmar are among the celebrities who continually seek for the public's assistance to help out the favorite tourist destination cope through the damages brought by the onslaught of Typhoon Odette.
Their home was not spared from the storm's wrath although thankfully, theirs was not too damaged compared to those that are wrecked if not fully wiped out by the typhoon.
The couple were in Manila when Odette ravaged the island but immediately flew back when the storm subsided. They however continued to post updates about the island's situation from time to time.
Andi also said that she will be donating the earnings of her vlog for the rehabilitation of the affected residents of the island.
Andi and Philmar, along with their children Lilo and Koa, have been living in Siargao. Andi's daughter Ellie occasionally stays in Siargao. The couple got engaged in December 2020.
