True to its word of providing first-class programs, GMA Network gives its loyal viewers ang una nilang prime time offering for 2009 na talaga namang bubulabog sa mga natutulog na diwa ng mga Pilipino—ang pinaka-bagong action-suspense-drama sa television, Carlo J. Caparas's Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang.
SVP for Entertainment Ms. Wilma Galvante says, "From the moment we chose her to play the role of MariMar, we knew the road of Marian Rivera was slated for stardom. Pair her with Dingdong Dantes, one of the sexiest men in the world, and you have yourself a love team that is hotter than hot. In this very new GMA Telebabad offering, we will heat up your nights by giving you the most intriguing Dingdong-Marian love team." At dagdag ni Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., GMA Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer: "There is probably no love team today that possesses the same chemistry on- and off-cam than Dingdong and Marian. Nasisiyahan kami na magbabalik na naman sila together in our newest series, Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang, ang panibagong alay ng Kapuso sa inyong lahat." Yes, Marian and Dingdong reunite for this soap, but they're not the only ones na talaga namang aabangan ng mga tao. Angelu de Leon makes a comeback to end all comebacks, and she plays opposite Dingdong—ang babaeng haharang sa pagsasama nina Homer at Proserfina. At nandito rin si Paolo Contis, bilang isang criminal na gustong angkinin si Proserfina. Kasama rin sa cast ang mga magagaling na artista tulad nina Ms. Carmi Martin, Francine Prieto, Sherilyn Reyes, and Eugene Domingo. Completing the cast are Lovi Poe, Mart Escudero, Jackie Rice, Prince Stefan, Alyssa Alano, Carlene Aguilar, Paolo Paraiso, Kevin Santos, and Boom Labrusca. Originally created for comics noong 1974 by the 2008 Sagisag Balagtas awardee and comics genius Carlo J. Caparas, Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang was later adapted as a movie in 1981 starring Eddie Rodriguez and Vivian Velez. Felipe L. Gozon, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of GMA Network, adds: "Ang lahat ng creations ni Carlo J. Caparas that we produced and broadcasted sa GMA-7 ay nakakakamit ng matataas na ratings sapagkat inyong tinangkilik. Itong isa na namang istorya ni Comics King na may titulong Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang na aming pinagbuhusan ng talento, panahon at hirap, kaya't ako'y umaasa na inyong muling tatangkilikin at papanoorin Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang." At para masigurado na maganda at maayos ang magiging run ng bagong show, GMA has brought back the woman who made Marian and Dingdong into household names—Bb. Joyce Bernal, now partnered with the suspense genius of Topel Lee. Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang is about destiny, secrets and deception, and it also hopes to show that love is the most powerful force on earth. It can push a person to give up everything just to be with the one he/she loves.
And from the get-go, pinangangatawanan na talaga ng Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang ang pagiging risqué nito. From the kissing scenes, the bed scenes—and soon, mayroon pang topless scene, there's no holding back na for the tandem of Marian and Dingdong. Pero bakit nga ba nila ginawang from the start ay may ganito na agad? Marian explains, "Doon magsisimula, pero sa simula lang siya. Para ma-realize nung mga viewers kung bakit nagbago si Homer dahil sa halik na 'yun." Si Dingdong nga mismo, after watching the first two episodes, says na mas naintidihan niya ang pinatutunguhan ng character niya: "Kaya pala niya hahabulin kasi nayanig ang mundo niya. Parang nagulantang siya." At talaga namang magugulantang pa si Dingdong at mga viewers ng programa as the story of Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang unfolds—weeknights on GMA Telebabad.
