Kung hindi niyo matimpla kung ano ang hanap niyong panoorin ngayong Pasko, why not give 'Ang Darling Kong Aswang' a try? With its mixture of comedy and horror and a touch of family drama plus the always-present action sequences, siguradong this movie has a little bit for everyone. Text by Jason John S. Lim.

In
Ang Darling Kong Aswang, we are introduced to the very different worlds of Victor (Vic Sotto) and Eliza (Cristine Reyes). The former is a call center manager who lives for his daughters, portrayed by Barbie Forteza and Mika dela Cruz; while the latter is an aswang who, with her mother Ida (Agot Isidro), wishes to leave their dark ways.
When Victor's and Eliza's paths cross, sparks fly. Pero kaya bang tanggapin ng pamilya ni Victor ang mundo ni Eliza? And will Eliza really be able to escape who she is?
Hindi complicated ang kuwento ng
Ang Darling Kong Aswang. Aimed to make everyone enjoy the movie regardless of their age, the story is structured as a simple love story with an adventure twist sa dulo, kung saan maghahalo na ang mga mundo nina Victor and Eliza. But in the end, the movie still proves to be a family drama.
Of course, being a Vic Sotto movie, hindi puwedeng mawala ang comedy—at ang maraming appearances ng iba't ibang mga artista for short but very memorable scenes. When you watch the movie, do look out for scenes featuring Jacky Woo, Mosang, Allan K, comedienne Rufa Mi, DJ Sam YG, and Vic's long-time partner Joey de Leon.
Siyempre, hindi rin mawawala ang real-life sweetheart ni Bossing na si Pia Guanio, na may kiliti sa viewers ang mga linya, at ang anak ni Vic na si Oyo Sotto.
Unlike Vic's previous movies,
Ang Darling Kong Aswang manages to contain itself to a smaller cast of characters. And this works very well for the movie, dahil sa hindi marami ang story threads na sinusundan, dire-diretso ang daloy ng kuwento. Hindi mo nga mapapansin that the movie is a minute over two hours long!
That's something that can also be attributed to a very stellar support cast, featuring the glorious Miss Jean Garcia, who portrays the lead aswang, Dante Rivero, Luz Fernandez, Rafael Rosell, Gian Sotto, Denise Laurel, Empress Shuck, Jackie Rice, Ritchie D'Horsie and Wally Bayola.
So this Holiday season, if you're looking for something light and has a touch of everything—why don't you buy a ticket to
Ang Darling Kong Aswang. And bring your whole family too!
