The pictures included a few snaps before her transition, as well as candid takes from her daily life.
"Yesterday was the Transgender day of Visibility and I wanted to share my experiences so far (even if I am a day late) it's been 10 years since my coming out and I am more than grateful for my rebirth. From seeing my old photos I truly am lucky to be living my best life at this moment," she wrote on the caption of her post.
Angie Mead King recalled how coming out had helped her overall well-being.
"Before I came out I would describe my situation as having two operating systems like Android OS vs Mac OS. It was truly confusing and mentally draining on what program was going to run in my brain and from my older photos I can see lots of my half smiles and unsureness. That all went away when I came out and I had the love and support of my friends, family, work and all of you who follow me today," she shared.
Angie is now glad to live a life where she can freely express herself.
"Today I have clarity and I always feel like I have the ability to do almost anything I put my heart to. Without love 💕 and acceptance I would have probably spiralled into chaos so thank you to all those beautiful people who sent and shared positivity," she said.
Finally, she gave a message of support for those who might be struggling with their gender identity.
"If you're experiencing gender or body dysmorphia please talk to a professional as being heard will help clear your journey. And remember it's never too late to start. Have a blessed day all 🥰," Angie ended her caption.
Angie recently celebrated 20 years of togetherness with her wife Joey Mead King. The couple have been married since 2011.
International Transgender Day of Visibility is celebrated on March 31 to acknowledge the contributions of transgender individuals to society and to raise awareness about the discrimination and other challenges that they face.
