'Unang Hirit' weather presenter and host Anjo Pertierra didn't miss the chance to get himself inked by the oldest living mambabatok, Apo Whang-Od, when he went to Kalinga recently.
Unang Hirit weather presenter and host Anjo Pertierra recently went to Kalinga for a segment in the morning show.
Anjo went on a 12-hour land trip to the landlocked province to feature the Tinglayan rice terraces and some of the staple foods there like Unoy Rice and Sinurad.
"Ibang klase talaga ang Pilipinas! Ang daming yaman na nakapaligid, na kailangan mong suyurin para makita at ma-experience! Twelve hours of land trip was so worth it," he said in his Instagram post dated April 16, 2024.
Among the many highlights of her Kalinga trip was meeting the oldest living mambabatok, Apo Whang-Od.
He went to Buscalan Tattoo Village via tram line to get himself inked by the traditional Kalinga tattooist.
One photo shows Apo Whang-Od touching his crotch area.
He added, "Ibang pakiramdam kapag nakita, nakausap at nakapag pa tattoo ka sa nag iisang Apo Whang-od. Isa sa yaman ng Pilipinas na kailangang ingatan at protektahan."
