Through an Instagram post, It's Showtime host Anne Curtis-Smith shared her sadness as she bid farewell to Australia after the death of her father, James Ernest Curtis-Smith.
“Left Australia with a heavy heart, yet in my memories, we'll never part dad,” Anne wrote in the caption.
She highlighted the unique connection they shared, using affectionate nicknames she used to address her dad.
“I'll see you when I see you, my huckleberry friend, my gentle giant, my father dearest —always, until then,” she said.
Anne also admitted in her post that while she still feels “waves of grief” and pain from time to time over the loss of her father, the pain is eased whenever she remembers the “special little moments” they shared.
“The grief comes in waves. The pain may pass (occasionally popping in to say hi),” she said.
“But remembering the special little moments I had with Dad is something I'll always do,” Anne continued.
She also took a moment to express gratitude to her followers, noting that while she hasn't been able to read every message yet, she is thankful for the outpouring of condolences.
“I haven't been able to read all of the messages but thank you to everyone who sent their condolences,” Anne wrote.
Anne is also looking forward to returning to It's Showtime soon: “See you guys on [It's] Showtime soon, need me some of that endless laughter.”
Many offered their condolences and love to her and the entire family, including showbiz personalities and Anne's friends such as Luis Manzano, Ryan Bang, Kuya Kim Atienza, and Ogie Alcasid.
“We will miss you,” Luis wrote in the comments.
“Hugs ate Anne,” Ryan bang commented.
“Love you Anne! Love you Papa James,” Kuya Kim wrote.
“Hugs and prayers dear @annecurtissmith,” said Ogie in the comments.
Sharing the news of her father's passing on social media, Anne remembered him as a "true patriarch", a title she feels he embodied in every way.
