GMA Network's Senior Vice President Annette Gozon-Valdes is delivering on her promise of collaboration as she shared cover star duties in Billboard Philippines' June digital exclusive issue with not just Kapuso beauty queen Michelle Dee but also with ABS-CBN Star Music's Roxy Liquigan.
In one of the more recent posts on the Billboard Philippines official Instagram account, the publication shared the cover image showing the trio dressed in all black. In the caption to the post, Billboard Philippines writes that the collaboration between GMA and ABS-CBN is “a groundbreaking partnership” that is “setting the stage for the future of OPM.”
The publication also wrote that Michelle is the center and the face of the movement, “embodying the authenticity and general appeal” that the GMA and ABS-CBN partnership aims to champion.
The collaboration Billboard Philippines is talking about is Michelle Dee's song Reyna, which is the first-ever collaboration of ABS-CBN's Star Magic and GMA Network's GMA Music. Just recently, Star Magic released a special Pride Month version of the song.
Collaboration has been something that Annette Gozon-Valdes has been championing. In an interview with GMA Lifestyle back in 2023, she viewed the then-developing collaborations between GMA and ABS-CBN as a stepping stone to a bigger international audience.
“We are looking at the collaboration between GMA and ABS as a collaboration that will penetrate the international market because we've seen how Korean content is making waves and now Thailand is making waves around the globe,” she said. “Maybe if we band together and produce a really good show, because GMA and ABS have the best creatives, best producers, we can create something together that can propel Philippine entertainment as one of the movers and shakers in the international scene. That's our dream.”
This also isn't the first time that Annette has been on a magazine cover. In December last year, she shared a Tatler Philippines cover with Sparkle stars Alden Richards, Sanya Lopez, Gabbi Garcia, Julie Anne San Jose, Michelle Dee, Ruru Madrid and David Licauco.
Aside from Annette, Sparkle Artist Center consultant Johnny Manahan, known more popularly as Mister M, has also been with Sparkle stars Rayver Cruz, Julie Anne San Jose, Ruru Madrid, Bianca Umali, Miguel Tafelix, and Ysabel Ortega, on the cover of Esquire Philippines.
In the Instagram post, Mister M was described as being behind some of the “brightest stars” in Philippine entertainment, while the Sparkle stars with him were described as the “brightest and most promising stars”.
