Anthony Rosaldo will play Romer in 'Bongga Ka Day!: The Annie Batungbakal Musical'.
Kapuso Pop Rocker Anthony Rosaldo is officially one of the Romers in the upcoming Bongga Ka Day!: The Annie Batungbakal Musical!
He will alternate with fellow Kapuso star Jeff Moses and Sam Concepcion.
Before Bongga Ka Day!: The Annie Batungbakal Musical, the Philippine theater stage have welcomed Anthony as Roger in Rent and young Hector in the 2023 staging of Ang Huling El Bimbo Musical.
In an exclusive with GMANetwork.com, Anthony shared some of his pre-show rituals that help him give his best on stage and slowly cement his name in the industry.
“I see to it, whenever I go on stage and do a show, maaga pa lang, like an hour, I do not look sa aking phone. I see to it that I disconnect, really internatlize, and go back to why am I doing the show, kung sino ako sa show, kung ano 'yung questions na need kong masagot para maipakiala 'yung character ko,” Anthony told GMANetwork.com.
He admitted, “Dumating na sa point kasi na, when I do a show, nawawala si Anthony; nagiging ibang tao. You just let your character shine.”
To top it all off, Anthony revealed, “Habang hindi pa nag-o-open house, nagpe-pray akong mag-isa sa stage; in the stillness of the dark, luluhod ako, I pray, give thanks kay God for giving me the chance to portray a character and inspire and to touch lives. Palagi 'yun. Hindi 'yun nagmi-miss.”

Bongga Ka Day!: The Annie Batungbakal Musical begins its run in September at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. It features the timeless hits of 70s band Hotdog, which Anthony admitted to being excited to bring to the stage.
“I'm excited about everything— the Manila sound, the fashion, whatever was uso that time were lived by my parents, especially my deceased father,” said.
Anthony shared, “I've worn his clothes before, 'yung very 70s, and I've seen it. A part of me, a part of my papa, will be on that show. Very colorful siya, so it will be an exciting and fun show, not just for us, but for everyone's that going to watch it.”
