
Korean girl group AOA's Kim Seolhyun is leaving her longtime agency FNC Entertainment.
She was scouted by the agency in 2010 and debuted under AOA in 2012.
On October 20, FNC Entertainment released the following statement:
"Hello. This is FNC Entertainment.
"After a long conversation and discussion with Seolhyun, FNC Entertainment has agreed to end our management work [with Seolhyun].
"Since her debut in 2012, Seolhyun has impressed in many different fields as an artist who represents FNC Entertainment.
"We convey our gratitude to Seolhyun for trusting us and being with us for a long time, and we express our gratitude to all the fans who always send love and support without holding back. The agency will continue to sincerely support Seolhyun's activities going forward, and we ask for your unchanging love and support for Seolhyun as she prepares to make a new start.
"Thank you."
On October 20, it was reported that Seolhyun had a meeting with IEUM HASHTAG, which manages star actresses including Jun Ji-hyun, Seo Ji-hye, and Kim So-hyun, about signing an exclusive contract with the agency.
A representative of IEUM HASHTAG shared to the media, “It is true that we had a meeting with Seolhyun and discussed the matter of an exclusive contract. We hope to deliver good news in the future.”
Currently, Seolhyun is gearing up for her upcoming drama “I Don't Feel Like Doing Anything” along with Im Si-wan.
