Kapuso courtside reporter and content creator Apple David has once again addressed and firmly denied allegations circulating online that she groomed basketball player Chad Gammad, her 18-year-old boyfriend.
In a series of live videos that were later screen-recorded and widely shared on social media, Apple responded to questions from netizens as discussions about their relationship continued to trend online.
Apple first drew public attention after confirming her relationship with Chad, which sparked mixed reactions due to their 15-year age gap; she is 33 years old while he is 18. In her live sessions, she stressed that there was no grooming involved in their relationship.
“Di ko siya ginugroom, wala sa qualifications. 'Yung nangyayari sa amin, malayong malayo sa grooming so 'wag niyong ipilit,” she said, adding that those insisting on the allegation are free to pursue formal complaints if they believe there is wrongdoing.
“Kung gusto n'yong ipilit, again, go. Story n'yo 'yan… bakit hindi n'yo ireklamo at ipaimbestiga,” she added.
In another live video, Apple also addressed criticisms regarding her social media posts, saying she has the right to share content about her personal life and encouraging those uncomfortable with it to simply unfollow her.
She further shared that despite the controversy, her professional work remains unaffected, noting that the companies she works with are aware of the situation and that she continues to receive inquiries for projects.
