Kamandag had met his end, but in truth, the last chapter of his life had just begun.
After Jenny found out that Lily also felt something for Vergel, she betrayed her new friend by telling Alicia who really killed Adlak—even though she knew how distraught Vergel’s mother would be. Cast out of Alicia's house, Lily began the long trek back to San Isidro, and into the heart of chaos. The Ambogs had waited for far too long in the underworld, and they were now ready to take over the mortal world as well. And what better way to do so than to attack? But the first sojourn met a hitch in the form of Adlak’s dead body. Gulag’s rage blinded him into attacking the world above without so much as a thought, frustrating the queen of the wildcats. Ragona also prepared her troops to regain the seat of Ambograw’s power, and to rid the underworld of the manipulative Gulag as well. But the Wolf King’s party had already left for the mortal world. And Ragona had no choice but to follow suit. In the land of the mortals, a humanized Vergel must fend off the many Ambogs who had attacked his beloved San Isidro—and who were then holding Lily and Boyong captive. Refusing to accept Lily’s sacrifice, Vergel lied and told Gulag that he was responsible for Adlak’s death, which earned him a lethal strike from the Wolf King. Left alone in the woods, Vergel was discovered by Jenny’s party, including Ditas who couldn’t accept the death of the brother she had only recently allowed back into her heart. But Vergel’s journey was far from over. And with the help of Spectra and Saban, Vergel was ready to return to the living to end another era in Ambograw, just the way destiny decreed it should happen. But there’s still the question of who Vergel will end up with. And will he be able to rise from the dead? Find out in the finale week of Carlo J. Caparas’ Kamandag, weeknights after another Caparas masterpiece, Joaquin Bordado.
