Ariadna Gutierrez says she wants to get the chance to talk to Pia Wurtzbach soon.
For the first time, former Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez recently had her first Philippine interview where she spoke about accusations about her ill feelings toward Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.
In an interview with Jefferson Fernando, Ariadna clarified that she had not spoken with Pia due to their busy schedule.
“Unfortunately, after what happened in Miss Universe 2015, I never got the chance to see her again,” she said in the interview.
“I think we both started a new life. We were both very busy. She was enjoying her year as Miss Universe. She had a lot of things to do.”
Furthermore, she admitted having a hard time moving on from what occurred during the competition, but the opportunities that came her way helped her recover.
Ariadna said, “In the beginning, it was hard. It was my dream since I was a little girl to be Miss Universe. I spent a couple of years to prepare for that.
“But, with all the opportunities that came, I started to enjoy life, enjoying every single project that I was in. I was motivated by other stuff that was going on in my life and definitely kept myself busy with projects.”
She continued, “That's how I moved on, with the support and help of my family.”
The former beauty queen then mentioned wanting to meet with Pia to get the chance to reconnect and get to know her on a more personal level.
“I really would love to meet her in person,” she stated.
“If Pia is watching this, I really would love to meet you very soon and talk about everything that happened from your point of view, from your experience.
“Whatever I say, and I say it every time I have an interview, people think I hate her or I hate Steve Harvey. I don't hate Pia, and I don't hate Steve because we were both victims of what happened.”
She continued, “Pia, if you are watching this, I really would love to meet you soon. I have nothing but respect for you.
“I am very happy for all your success and I wish that maybe in the future, we could go together to the Philippines.”
Ariadna went viral recently after she was quoted saying that she did not notice Pia until the competition.
A few days later, she went on to say that people misinterpreted her statement.
To recall, PIa had a controversial win during the Miss Universe pageant in 2015 after Steve Harvey mistakenly announced Ariadna as the winner.
