"I'm very blessed, the first thing I did when I woke up, nag-pray and thanked god for giving me another year." - Ashley Ortega

Ashley Ortega, or Ash, turned 18 last December 26 and to commemorate such a huge milestone in her life, her family threw a party for the debutante yesterday (December 27) at Le Rêve Pool Party Venue and Events Place, Quezon City. Her debut is titled #dASHingAt18 to celebrate the growth and change in Ash, both physically and mentally.

Before her debut began, Ash could not contain her happiness during her interview as she was smiling the whole time. She also admitted that she was really involved during the process of organizing her debut.

"Super hands-on ako but in the very first place, siguro mga four or five months [ago] I didn't expect na it would be this big! What I planned was a really small party lang for my close friends but then I don't know what happened, lumaki na lang nang lumaki. This is so unexpected [but] I'm thankful also," she said.

Ash had a lot of stars attend her debut such as her Oh, My Mama! cast mates Jake Vargas and Inah de Belen but she mostly invited non-showbiz friends whose company she truly cherishes.

According to Ash, "I invited showbiz people na mga naka-work ko and mostly mga private friends who were here talagang 'yung before pa ako mag-artista; those are the ones na naging importante sa akin."

Despite turning a year older, Ash doesn't feel that much of a change yet, "To be honest hindi ko pa nafi-feel na 18 na pala ako ngayon. I feel like I'm still 17. I'm very blessed, the first thing I did when I woke up the next morning 'nung 26, nag-pray and thanked god for giving me another year."

She also shared with us her wish for her birthday.

"Actually ang winish ko lang kay Lord is to have a successful career, good health for me and my family, and to have all the happiness in the world," the Kapuso actress shared.

Lastly, now that she's of legal age, people are curious if she's going to have more daring roles to which she answered:

"Hindi ko pa naiisip 'yon and for now, nagsi-sink in pa lang 'yung pagiging 18 ko. SIguro ngayon talaga, 'di ko pa siya naiiisip at all. It depends, I feel like I'm still so young!"
