ASTRO's Moonbin's mother has spoken up on behlaf of her late son to clarify rumors circulating his passing

ASTRO member Moobin passed away on April 2023, leaving friends, family, and fans grieving over his untimely death.

Over a month after his passing, rumors still circulate about his death, much to the dismay of Moonbin's mother, who has taken the matter into her own hands.

On June 13, ASTRO's music laben Fantagio posted a message on the group's official fan cafe. The letter was from Moonbin's mother, who wanted to clear the air for her deceased son.

"Hello, this is Bin's mother," the letter read.

"First, I received a lot of comfort from the sincerity of the fans who, even though it was a long distance to travel, came all the way to [Moonbin's memorial spaces] and wrote heartfelt letters and brought flowers.Truly, I sincerely thank you. I hope that all the fans also find comfort and stay in good health.

"The reason that I ended up writing this letter is because, even though I know everyone is mourning and grieving for my son, I've seen that there have been groundless rumors starting in a small minority of online communities.

"These kinds of rumors are so difficult for me to see as a mother, and I am also worried that because of these false rumors, many people will suffer damages, and the fans who have been grieving for my son might suffer heartbreak.

"I don't want my son to become fodder for gossip, and I entreat you to please not start any more rumors or spread unconfirmed facts.

"I don't want the fans whom Bin loved so dearly to live on with broken hearts. I sincerely thank all of you for your heartfelt mourning."

Earlier this month, Fantagio announced the opening of a memorial space honoring Moonbin at Gukcheongsa Temple.

Fellow ASTRO member Cha Eun-woo has also shared a tribute to Moonbin and shared a cover of 10cm's "Stalker," one of Moonbin's favorite songs.

Moonbin passed away at 25 years old after being found unresponsive in his Seoul apartment.

In 2016, he debuted with ASTRO. He was part of the group's sub-unit Moonbin & Sanha, which was formed in 2020.

Moonbin & Sanha visited the Philippines for their "DIFFUSION in Manila" fan concert.
