Multi-awarded GMA News personality Atom Araullo immediately took to Twitter to defend a family member after reading false information being linked to his mom online.
In a tweet, this Tuesday afternoon (October 18), the State of The Nation anchor reposted some screenshots of a netizen's tweet, who accused his mother, Carol of being a member of the New People's Army.
Atom said, “I don't usually call out private individuals here, but behavior like this should not be normalized. Disinformation is a huge problem globally, one that can have deadly consequences. Examples from a particularly devoted user below."

He also told the person to stop spreading these lies.
“Don't do that. These are lies, probably fed to you by some of the influencers you follow. Kailan pa naging katanggap-tanggap yung ganito?”
