
Award-winning broadcast journalist Atom Araullo continues his Kapuso journey as he renews his exclusive contract with GMA Network today, December 17.
Atom has been a Kapuso since 2017 and has won numerous international awards for several of his documentaries, including the prestigious Best Asian Documentary at the 4th Asia Contents Awards at the Busan International Film Festival.
"Sa totoo lang, 'yung five years dumaan lang, e. Hindi ko nga na-feel, e, feeling ko nga bago pa lang ako sa GMA, e," he candidly shared after the contract signing ceremony.
"In terms of stories I want to do, ang dami. Ang hirap isa-isahin dahil parang 'yung mga topics naman, depende rin sa sitwasyon, e, sa kalagayan ng bansa natin, ng mundo.
"Ako, gusto ko lang 'yung china-challenge 'yung sarili ko, and also to take on more complicated stories that require deeper investigation and also commitment to find[ing] out what's happening, to get to the bottom of things.
"That's the kind of story I like to do. Hopefully, magkaroon pa ng ganitong opportunities."
Joining Atom and his manager Noel Ferrer were GMA Network Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group and President of GMA Films, Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, First Vice President of Public Affairs Nessa Valdellon, and First Vice President and Head of Regional TV and Synergy, and Acting Head of GMA Integrated News Oliver Victor B. Amoroso.
Also in the contract signing were Assistant Vice President for Public Affairs Angeli Atienza, GMA Integrated News Deputy Head for News Programs and Specials Michelle Seva, GMA Integrated News Senior Program Manager Kate Dela Cruz, and GMA Public Affairs Senior Program Manager Joseph Conrad Rubio.
Atom currently hosts the award-winning documentary program I-Witness and The Atom Araullo Specials. He is also the anchor of GTV's flagship news program, State of the Nation, with Maki Pulido.
