Troy and Aubrey revealed that their backyard was originally a space devoted to their plant collection, but during the lockdown, they decided to put a sitting area so they can hang out there with their kids.

Of course, the proud plant parents showed Mars Pa More viewers their plant babies, which includes a Philodendron Glorious, Monstera Adansonii, Anthurium Clarinervium, and the famous Monstera Deliciosa 'Thai Constellation' plant, to name a few.

Aubrey and Troy also have banana trees and a 15-feet Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree in their collection. Plus, they have pitcher plants, which are carnivorous plants that attract and eat insects like mosquitoes.

According to Troy, his favorite among them all is the elephant ear plant, which they revealed actually just grew out of nowhere.

Aubrey explained, “Hindi naman tinubo 'to. Nag-wild lang diyan. Siguro (habang) nagtatanim ako, may nalaglag na seed, (tapos) tumubo.”

Troy then said, “So, she's not allowed to cut that down or to remove it. It's my favorite out of all her most expensive, rare, and everything plants.”

They ended their garden tour by showing their first-ever Birds of Paradise plant to inspire fellow plant parents. According to Aubrey, it used to be just a two-leaf plant a few years ago before blossoming into the glorious tree that it is now.

During their interview with Mars Iya and Camille, Aubrey and Troy discussed plant care and also gave a few tips to newbie plantitos and plantitas.

Aubrey said that for her, the most challenging plants to grow are the flowering plants because they need water and full sun every day.

“Minsan 'di ako pwedeng mawala ng dalawang araw. May binili akong flowers (tapos) nag-out of town lang kami, pagbalik ko deads (na).”

On the other hand, the easiest plants to take care of are the snake plant and rubber tree.

“Basta lang may konting kahit fluorescent light lang mabubuhay siya eh.

“Kung gusto mo ng mga easy, 'yung mga palm. Itong nasa likod ko, okay siya. Ito, walang dilig 'to two weeks na. Two weeks na nagpapasikat pa rin. Okay lang siya diyan. Ganyan.

“At saka I like 'yung mga ano, may tinatawag silang species 'yung Philodendron. So, medyo hardcore sila. Hard to kill.

“Kahit medyo mag-dry sila, hindi sila agad (mamamatay). Pwede silang mag-bounce back kaaagad.”

When it comes to basic plant care tips, Aubrey said that one tell-tale sign that your plant needs water is when you carry the pot and it's already lighter than usual.

And for those wanting to buy expensive and rare plants, Aubrey simply advised, “If you know that you can propagate -'yun yung tawag nila--'yung you can grow cuttings, you can sell, then pwede kang mag-invest sa mahal na plants.”
