Loyal fans of the 2D animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender are beaming with excitement after reports confirmed that there will be a new chapter of the beloved anime set after Legend of Korra.
According to the official logline, as published by Variety.com, the story will revolve around “a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm. A young Earthbender discovers she's the new Avatar after Korra - but in this dangerous era, that title marks her as humanity's destroyer, not its savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization's last strongholds collapse.”
“Avatar” creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko will be part of the upcoming animated series.
Meanwhile, the live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender released in 2024 on Netflix was a huge hit; wherein Filipino-Canadian actor Gordon Cormier was tapped to play the title role of Aang.
