In an exclusive interview with GMAnetwork.com during his video shoot for National Teacher's month, the Starstruck alumnus talked about the best advice he got from his favorite teacher.

He narrated, "He was actually our history teacher in college, pero, I think, he taught much more than school itself. He thought us na, if you don’t work on something, you’re never gonna get it. I think that’s why he’s my favorite teacher, [because he got me working.]"

The actor-model is a Mass Communation graduate from La Salle College Antipolo.

Avery also added, "In college, I was like, 'hindi, hindi, hindi naman ako magre-review, stock knowledge lang 'yan. Pero through him, I actually sat down, and for the first time, read stuff overnight. And it’s because of what he taught me."

The 21-year-old explained that his teacher didn't just taught him "[the subject] history, but also life lessons."

He expounded, "[I learned that] if you don’t work hard and put 110% in what you do, then the outcome will not be too good. It’s like, only if you give 110% then you can say you’ve done your best. Even if you fail, at least you gave 110%."
