Multi-awarded comedian and content creator Michael V. went on record on 24 Oras last night, May 26, and said that the COVID-19 pandemic brought so many challenges shooting his flagship sitcom, Pepito Manaloto.
Direk Bitoy, a COVID-19 survivor himself, told Nelson Canlas on Chika Minute that the production even had to change the title of the show from "Ang Tunay na Kuwento" to "Kuwento Kuwento" to address the problems brought about by the ongoing pandemic.
He explained, “Naging challenging siya dahil sa pandemic, we have to step up and we had to convert from 'Tunay na Kuwento' into 'Kuwento Kuwento' para ma-address 'yung hirap and challenges noong pandemic.”
The network also confirmed on May 25 that award-winning sitcom starring Bitoy and Manilyn Reynes will be on season break for a while.
For the lead stars of the show, they feel that this temporary break will be a good thing for the cast and crew, especially on the creative side of the show.
Michael V. noted, “'Pag ako normally, nagpapahinga doon lumalabas 'yung mga ideas, so this will be a great time to come up with new ideas, not just for the show. Siguro for other things I can do as an actor.”
Manilyn seconded, “Makakapag-prepare rin tayo sa kung ano pa man 'yung darating, hindi pa natin alam 'di ba sa susunod na chapter naman.”
