Barbie Forteza and Bea Alonzo

Barbie Forteza sits down with Bea Alonzo in a tell-all interview for the first episode of 'Coffee Talk with Barbie Forteza'

Barbie Forteza just launched the first episode of her YouTube channel series called Coffee Talk with Barbie Forteza, and her very first guest is none other than acclaimed actress Bea Alonzo.

Bea opened up about her experience being a Kapuso and mentioned how conscious she is of how she presents herself to the network.

"So far, so good. But syempre maraming adjustments, I feel just like in any working environment iba iba tayo ng culture. I'm still trying to blend in but so far, so good. Because maraming kagaya mo na very welcoming. Very happy naman

"Actually, mas concern ko kung naipapakita ko ba 'yung totoong pagkatao ko sa inyo. Naipapakita ko ba yung work ethics ko in the best way I can. Rather than kung paano nila ako pakikisamahan, mas kung paano ako makikisama.

Barbie answered, "I'm happy na super happy kayo sa amin. Isa kayo sa tinitingala ko sa Philippine Cinema."

The two Kapuso stars also shared their usual morning routine.

"Ako personally, hindi ko kayang humarap sa tao ng walang kape, kumbaga nag-loloading ako," Barbie admitted.

Likewise, Bea agreed and added her simple skincare hack. "Ganun din ako kailangan ko ng coffee on my way to taping. Nanggagaling 'yung routine o ritual ko sa umaga depende kung gaano katagal yung tulog ko. Before I put on my makeup meron akong parang icy pops para magising at para closed 'yung pores. Binibisita ko rin 'yung sequence guide to have an idea paano magiging flow ng araw ko."

Both actresses are familiar with matching their emotions to their acting scenes, Barbie asked, 'Yung pag turn on and off ng emotions sa eksena, nagagamit n'yo rin po ba sa totoong buhay?"

Bea answered, "Definitely. Never akong nagpa-pack up ng taping because of my problems. Never mo akong makikitang hindi ready sa trabaho dahil disoriented sa breakup. Never.

She continued, "Meron din siyang disadvantage, whenever I'm going through something very hard in my life... Sometimes I would catch myself na parang startled lang and stunned. Minsan hindi ko na nirerespeto 'yung totoo kong nararamdaman.

Bea also confessed that just like other actresses, she has days when she's not performing her best but she tries to take it in stride. "Yung shame kapag tinanggalan mo ng karapatan to affect you, it won't affect you."

Naturally, Bea's onscreen partner John Lloyd Cruz was brought into the conversation. Bea recalled how she and John Lloyd first met when she was just a teenager, but it took a while before they even became friends.

"It took a lot of hard work. I've known John Lloyd since I was 13 years old. Nung umpisa hindi kami friends, hindi kami nagpapansinan for three years. I didn't like him, he didn't like me. Until we did a movie together.

"Naging magkaaway kami, galit na galit ako. Galit din siya sa akin. Tapos nagkita kami sa isang movie, sobrang okay na naman kami.

Bea acknowledged that she and John Lloyd share a soft spot for each other, often letting go of past arguments to support each other. "Napansin ko kapag mayroon siyang pinagdadaanan he would feel na I'm there for him na isasantabi ko 'yung lahat ng nararamdaman kong mali tungkol sa kanya. Ganoon din siya sa akin. Kapag mayroon akong pinagdadaanan, isasantabi niya yung inis niya sa akin. He would be there for me.

"What we have goes beyond friendship and romance, it's really something special. It's actually longer than some marriages, so it's very special to me.

Barbie asked, "So yung relationship n'yo po talaga, beyond friendship and romance or hindi nagtutugma 'yung schedule ng tadhana n'yo?"

Bea explained how they made their friendship last, "May ganoon din siguro, feeling ko may ganoon din talaga siguro. I also remember we were mindful to not be together because it's not going to help our business. I would rather have him there as my friend and as somebody I work with, that works kaysa yung magiging kami and it would be an ugly breakup. Or hindi lang siya ang tugma.

She added, "But if you're gonna talk about me loving him, of course, I love him. We have reached this point na nag-mature na kami and we're so comfortable with each other we can actually talk about it like this.

Barbie then asked, "Willing po ba kayo to work with an ex?

Without a doubt, Bea answered, "Depende kung sinong ex. Kay Zanjoe [Marudo] okay ako makipag work. Isa lang naman [sa mga ex ko] yung ayaw ko e.
