I’m so happy to have found people and a network that believed in me for 8 years and gave me the opportunity to show my talent and expand my range as an actress. Now, I am proud to call @gmanetwork , my home. #ProudtobeKapuso

“GMA is my second home, [and] I don’t see myself working with any other network. Dito ako nabigyan ng chance, dito ako na-discover, dito ako nag-try ng ibang roles [at] projects,” Barbie told GMANetwork.com during her contract signing.

She is grateful that GMA continues to trust and challenge her as an artist, “Sobrang saya at sobrang thankful. Dito ko na na-discover ‘yung iba ko pang puwede kong gawin [at] iba ko pa kayang gawin. GMA lang ang nagbigay sa akin ng opportunities na ganyan so very thankful dahil I’m still with them.”

Barbie was first introduced via the 2009 TV drama Stairway to Heaven eight years ago when she was just 12 years old. The actress recalled, “Sobrang overwhelming kasi ever since, hindi nila ako pinabayaan, and hindi rin po ako nakalimutan. Nakakatuwa kasi kahit [may] mga newly-signed artists, andito pa rin ako at saka inaalagaan po nila ako.”

Since then, the Kapuso star starred in various shows, eventually making her one of the most promising artists and multi-awarded actresses of her generation.

GMA Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon praised the young actress, “Para [siyang] bulaklak na nag-bloom at pagkaganda-ganda. I’m very proud na talagang homegrown si Barbie at ngayon ay isang very versatile actress na napakagaling at malayo pa talagang mararating niyan. Napakalayo pa.”

Barbie will top bill the upcoming romantic-comedy Primetime series Inday Will Always Love You opposite Kapuso leading men Derrick Monasterio and Juancho Trivino this May.
