Barbie Hsu and her husband Wang Xiaofei are now separating ways.
Taiwanese superstar Barbie Hsu, more popularly known as Shan Cai in the iconic 2001 series Meteor Garden has just announced that she is divorcing her Chinese husband of 10 years, wealthy businessman Wang Xiaofei.
The decision, however, was reportedly mutual and both parties have agreed to peacefully co-parent their two children.
According to reports, Barbie filed for divorce at the family court of the Taipei District Court earlier this month.
The announcement was issued by a proxy through the couple's legal counsel filed by both Wang and Hsu. The latter used her legal name Hsu Shi-yuan.
Furthermore, the couple thanked their fans for their love and support. Even if they're now treading the divorce route, the two are said to be thankful still for the wonderful times they had together. The couple asked the public to respect their space so as to prevent social attacks on their family, especially their kids.
Barbie became a worldwide phenomenon when she starred as Shan Cai in Meteor Garden, together with popular Taiwanese boy band F4 (Flower Four). Her teamup with Jerry Yan, who played the iconic Dao Ming Si was a blockbuster hit which many kids back then idolized.
