A barefoot father touched hearts as he proudly supported his child at a moving-up ceremony in Oriental Mindoro.

Netizens were touched by a father's quiet act of support for his five-year-old child during a moving-up ceremony in Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.

In a video shared by YouScooper Edward Fatallar on GMA News, kindergarten pupil Medios Sam-Oy of Carmundo Elementary School in Barangay Carmundo was seen walking hand in hand with his father, Tatay Talon. The father, who was barefoot and dressed simply, proudly accompanied his child during the ceremony.

According to Medios' teacher, Misie Dela Roca Gadon, the child is cheerful, kind, and friendly. She also shared that despite challenges, Medios continues to show dedication to his studies.

The teacher also noted that the family belongs to the Bangon indigenous group.

Medios' mother was unable to attend the ceremony, so his father stepped in to be by his side and receive his diploma.

During the moving-up ceremony, Medios received the “Happy Helper” award. He will continue his studies as he pursues his dream of becoming a teacher someday.
