BB Gandanghari on her Instagram Live

BB Gandanghari shared that she's upset from continuously correcting her family over gender issues.

BB Gandanghari could not contain her emotions once more while explaining on an Instagram Live how distressed she feels over learning she was the subject of fake news on the internet.

In the video, BB shared that she feels annoyed and confused to know that someone dared to spread that she has already passed away.

“Ang hirap baliwalain nung fake news. Ang hirap i-set aside,” she told her fans while wiping the tears in her face.

“Alam ko naman na mag-isa ako, may kaniya-kaniya tayong dalahin sa buhay. I'm basically single.

“But how do you get through this thing? I'm praying. Saan ka pa naman ba kukuha ng lakas ng loob kundi mag-pray. Actually, dun sa ganung instance, ang ginawa ko nung unang nabalitaan ko, I prayed right away.

“Maski nung Saturday, 'di ako makatulog. Ano bang tamang reaction dun? Alam mo 'yun?

"Kaya minsan emotionally, nakakapagod. Emotionally pagod ako,” she confessed,

The popular LGBTQIA+ member then shared that what got her more emotional is knowing that her family had completely disregarded the proper way to address her.

“And I'll tell you why, and I'll let you help me na bakit ganun? Bakit hindi nagsi-sink in na every time they do that to me, 'grabe yung emotional...na parang nang-iinis. Hindi ko naiintindihan.”

BB later recounted how an unnamed sibling asked how she was doing, two days after learning that she was a subject of a hoax on the internet.

She presented a screenshot of their conversation on Instagram Live and read the exact words that were written on the group message.

In verbatim, “Please read the article. Naisip ko lang, mag-isa siya sa America. HE probably misses everyone.”

She argued, “Hindi wrong grammar! Wrong gender! Wrong pronoun. You always say my pronoun is 'he' -- because it's an issue. Kung ito hindi mo pa naiintindihan 'yan, e, 'wag ka nang mag-English.

“Kung hindi ito dumb at ganito ako i-address ng buong pamilya ko ay talagang mahihirapan ako na umuwi sa Pilipinas.

“Ito 'yung mga sinasabi ko sa inyo na nagpapakilalang mga pamilya ko pero ganito ako i-address na please, kung gaganituhin niyo lang din ako… please.”

In 2019, BB shared a screenshot of a conversation between sister-in-law Mariel Padilla and columnist Ricky Lo, labeling it as a misgendering because the latter used BB's deadname as well as the pronoun “him.”

She said, “Paging @therealrickylo. With all due respect, Tito Ricky but I don't think I can allow anyone to misgender me or even address me by my deadname. My preferred gender pronoun is HER and SHE, and you may call me BB. or by my LEGAL name Binibini.”

According to BB, misgendering occurs when someone “intentionally or unintentionally refers to a person, relates to a person, or uses language to describe a person that doesn't align with their affirmed gender.”

#misgendered... 💔 A Friendly Reminder🙏 . . What is misgendering? For people who are transgender, nonbinary, or gender nonconforming, coming into their authentic gender can be an important and affirming step in life. Sometimes, people continue to refer to a person who is transgender, nonbinary, or gender nonconforming using terms related to how they identified before transition. This is known as misgendering. Misgendering occurs when you intentionally or unintentionally refer to a person, relate to a person, or use language to describe a person that doesn't align with their affirmed gender. For example, referring to a woman as “he” or calling her a “guy” is an act of misgendering.💐 . . Paging @therealrickylo. With all due respect, Tito Ricky but I don't think I can allow anyone to misgender me or even address me by my deadname. My preferred gender pronoun is HER and SHE, and you may call me BB. or by my LEGAL name Binibini... 🌈 . . #LGBTQ #Bigotry #NoToDiscrimination #Offensive #lgbtqRights #Transgender #Empowerment #GenderEquality #FriendlyReminder
