Alden and Bea, the two of the brightest stars today, are gearing up for the Philippine movie adaptation of Japanese drama, Pure Soul, the same source material for the hit 2004 South Korean film, A Moment to Remember.
In an interview with 24 Oras, the Kapamilya actress admitted that she feels the pressure of having to portray the role.
“Sa totoo lang, nakaka-pressure. Kanina, coming here I was so anxious sa totoo [lang]. Kinakabahan talaga ako because hindi ko rin naman alam what to expect 'di ba,” she said, adding, “But then right now I feel so comfortable. I feel comfortable with Alden, I feel comfortable with the ones I just met, the bosses of these three big film outfits.”
On the other hand, Alden likewise shared that he's having mixed emotions now that the film is officially happening.
“Wala akong natututunan kung laging dun lang ako sa comfortable roles pero ngayon after ko siyang basahin, masaya ako na mas lamang 'yung kaba kasi hindi biro 'yung role,” he added.
In his past interviews, the actor-host has been vocal about his admiration towards Bea and has been looking forward to working with her.
“Gusto ko siyang maka-work sana sa movie kasi nasubaybayan ko halos lahat ng movies nila ni John Lloyd Cruz,” he shared.
Little did he know that Bea feels the same way, too.
“Ang hindi niya alam, gusto ko rin talaga siyang makatrabaho kasi I have seen his movie with Kathryn [Bernardo] and I thought he did a very good job with the character. I wanna be able to have the chance to actually work with him in a project and develop characters with him,” she said.
Alden starred with actress Kathryn Bernardo in the blockbuster film Hello, Love, Goodbye in 2019.
According to reports, the two have begun attending workshops for the film.
“We want to give this movie an international flavor talaga lalo na we're having both Alden and Bea in it. So, we feel that this is project is perfect talaga for the both of them,” said GMA Pictures president Annette Gozon-Valdes.
As per its release date, CEO Vincent Del Rosario said, “We will hold out until such time na nag-normalize na 'yung cinema operations kasi 'yung movies meant to be seen sa big screen rather than sa small screen.”
