Jonas Gaffud's advice to aspiring beauty queens, “They have to be knowledgeable about so many things in life and not just their advocacies.”

Talent manager and creative and events director of Miss Universe Philippines Jonas Gaffud has trained so many beauty queens under his belt.

To name a few, he helped Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Miss International 2016 Kylie Versoza, and Miss World 2013 Megan Young.

And as Binibining Pilipinas 2019 had recently drawn to a close, the creative director has a piece of advice for future beauty queens who are vying for international titles.

For one, he mentions that the question and answer portion for this year's roster should serve as a learning lesson for every beauty queen.

“Well, again, it is a learning lesson for every beauty contestant next year,” he says.

“Siguro kasi, ang laki rin ng pressure ngayon because of social media and then 'yung mga tao, iba rin talaga.

“So, dapat matutunan ng mga contestant na 'di magpadala dun sa pressure ng comment ng mga tao or hecklers.”

Secondly, Gaffud advises that each contestant must be knowledgeable not only of their own advocacies but also to draw from real-life experiences in order to appeal to both the judges and beauty pageant afficionados.

“They have to be real when they answer their questions.

“They have to be knowledgeable about so many things in life and not just their advocacies.

“There are so many things to draw knowledge from!

“Dapat nga isang tanong ay hindi tungkol sa advocacy lang, you know?

“You have to answer from your heart and what you know.

“You have to be knowledgeable and 'yan ang dapat maging lesson ng mga girls next year.”
