Bela Padilla, sa pakikipagtrabaho kay Lorna Tolentino: “There's a reason why our paths crossed at this point in our lives.”
Sa ikalawang pagkakataon, nakapagdirek muli ng pelikula ang aktres na si Bela Padilla. Ito ay ang official entry sa 2023 Summer Metro Manila Film Festival na, Yung Libro sa Napanood Ko.
Isa sa kanyang pinasalamatan, sa ginanap na press conference nito noong nakaraang linggo, ang aktres na si Lorna Tolentino dahil pumayag siyang maging bahagi ng naturang pelikula.
Ayon kay Bela, “One thing na I want to say sa young generation out there, shoot your shot. 2023 is the year to shoot your shot.
“I've never imagined in my wildest dreams that I would direct Ms. LT. As you've said, ang mga nagdidirek sa kanya ay mga award-winning, national artist, but we all have to start someone.
“I needed one person to believe in me and it was Ms. LT. So, all the young people out there, you deserve a shot. Hindi natin idi-diminish yung trabaho nila because of the lack of experience.”
Ayon kay Bela, noon pa man ay hinahangaan na niya ang batikang aktres na si Lorna.
“Si Tita LT, mayroon kaming loose connection, e. I'm related to Tito Robin [Padilla, the Cariño side. Si Ms LT and Tito Daboy [Rudy Fernandez], sa Padilla side. So, nakikita ko na sila noong bata pa ako sa mga family reunions.
“I always found Ms. LT very mysterious and intriguing, even growing up, noong napapanood ko na yung mga movies niya. Sabi ko, parang if I could work with someone, I think, it would be her. Kasi, she's different.
“As you can see, she's very youthful, she's very young. It's how she thinks, it's how she speaks to people. As you can see, she is very gracious. There's a reason why our paths crossed at this point in our lives.”
Nabanggit din ni Bela na si Lorna ang puso ng pelikula. Kaya naman, hiling niya, “I really hope Min-gon and Ms. LT get nominated because their performances here are to watch out for.”
Bukod kina Bela at Lorna, bida rin sa pelikula ang Korean actor na si Yoo Min-gon.
Sa kabuuan, natuwa si Bela sa mga co-actor niya sa pelikula dahil mas napadali ang kanyang trabaho niya bilang direktor.
“Yung pressure was lifted off from my shoulders. They were well prepared at magagaling talaga. Napadali ang buhay ko dahil sa kanila. I hope it's the same for everyone, not just the three of us,” pagtatapos ni Bela.
