Sparkle artist and content creator Benedict Cua recently took time to answer questions from fans about his life as a single dad.

In a recent vlog, Benedict explained his decision to become a solo parent to his son, Aleck. The Sparkle star confessed that he wanted to connect with other single parents who share similar experiences and struggles in raising their children. He also acknowledged that sharing his journey is a way for him to both offer and receive support from fellow parents.

"I also wanted to reach them (single parents) because I need support system too. Sa vlogs ko, it may seem as easy as it can be but it's not easy," he shared.

Benedict aims for his vlogs to serve as encouragement and source of information about the realities of single parenthood. The vlogger makes sure to balance what he shows on his videos, showing both the hardships and the rewarding experiences of being a single father.

"But I also don't want to stress out that fatherhood is not easy because it's a very awarding experience. 'Di ko naman siyang sobrang rino-romanticize dahil there's also struggles behind it despite being rewarding," he explained.

Benedict added, "I guess kahit kasi sobrang open minded ang mga tao ngayon, there are still instances when single parenthood is being frowned upon. Because paano mo kakayanin mag-isa ka? At some point, magkukulang at magkukulang ka. (And) I think I'm here, not to show the perfection on being a single parent but to let you guys see that this moment of my life is navigable (and) I want you guys to navigate with me."

He admitted there are moments when he doesn't know what to do, expressing gratitude for his viewers and followers who help him through such instances.

"For sure , there will be times na sobrang clueless ako sa ginagawa ko and I think it's very important to be surrounded by an audience that's very empowering. I want to share my learnings, But I also want to get help and advice," he said.

Benedict concluded with a heartfelt and empowering message, "I seldom see single fathers. It's something na hindi ko dapat ikahiya."

Last May, Benedict surprised netizens with the sudden announcement that he is already a father in his vlog titled "My life story: Becoming a father". Since then, he has happily shared glimpses of his life as a single parent and photos with his son.
