Content creation is one of the most popular career paths today, which Sparkle artist Benedict Cua has also come to love.
But did you know that he did not immediately find the path to content creation?
He reflected on his journey on the February 12 episode of GTV cooking talk show Lutong Bahay with Mikee Quintos and Hazel Cheffy.
Benedict revealed that he left his corporate job because he felt lost. He eventually tried working in their business and attended acting workshops in his free time.
“Iniwan ko ['yung corporate job ko] dahil hindi ko alam 'yung gagawin ko sa buhay; dahil lost ako sa buhay. I was 27, so two years before that, I resigned, tapos nag-business,” said Benedict.
“I keep on telling myself na hindi ako masaya,” he added.
Despite the setbacks, Benedict did not stop finding his passion and eventually opened more doors for himself through acting workshops and content creation.
According to Benedict, he originally wanted to be an actor, “Dati gusto talagang maging artista, pero mas nagkaroon ako ng opportunity sa content creation. I think iba na talaga 'yung times ngayon, e.”
He added, “Feeling ko, the form of expression changed me. Tumanda-tanda na ako, hindi ko alam kung saan ako masaya until I tried acting na parang nabuhos ko lahat. And with content creation, I was able to do content that are freeing."

Benedict also looked back on the turning point of his career, “Noong natanggal 'yung bigat sa dibdib ko. Parang may one time na noong nag-wo-workshop ako, nag-heavy scenes kami doon, after nun, [sabi ko], 'Ay, teka, parang pinanganak ako ulit!”
Of course, he did not keep his hardships as a content creator and actor secrets. But he said these kept him going.
He told Mikee and Hazel Cheffy, “Malalaman mo kung gusto mo 'yung isang bagay 'pag you want more. Kahit mahirap, okay lang.”
