The 'Owe My Love' actor follows an intense workout routine to keep him fit and in good shape.
Getting used to lock-in tapings can take a while but Benjamin Alves has learned to roll with the punches.
“I think you just have to take it one day at a time.
"Like today is a day off so it's our chance to relax, to work out, and then we have a virtual promo tour nga today.
"You just have to look on the bright side of things,” Benjamin told GMA Lifestyle.
He also noted, “And the people here who are accommodating us they have their little notes on our meals that give us a boost for the day.
"So 'yong mga ganung small victories really make a big difference.”
In great shape
Benjamin--who, together with Lovi Poe, is top-billing GMA's upcoming romantic series, Owe My Love--reveals his lock-in taping essentials.

“Rowing machine,” Benjamin said smilingly, pertaining to the workout machine designed to build strong muscles and shed belly fat.
“Luho na 'to but, yeah, it really keeps us balanced mentally and physically.
"It allows us na magawa 'yong kailangan namin every morning to workout. That's an essential for me to do cardio and exercise every day,” he continued.
“Some people I've seen bring an air fryer to the set. So kanya-kanyang essential. Pero sa akin it's really the workout gear and madaming underwear.”
Interestingly, Benjamin admitted struggling with his diet often as he doesn't follow a strict routine when it comes to food.
“I'm the worse with diet kasi I just really listened to my body that day.
"So, sometimes my weight really fluctuates.
"But I know how to get into certain weight like Sa Kapag Nahati ang Puso, I was super lean there,” he recalled.
“The diet is adjustable you have to, of course, listen to your body.
"For me, the most important is the workout especially for the guys you have to take care of your core kasi 'yon yung hinahanap nila 'yong abs,” Benjamin sheepishly grinned.
To do that, Benjamin does 500 to a thousand sit-ups daily on top of other high-intensity exercises.
“If it's not before taping, it's after taping. You really have to set time.
"Hopefully, it translates sa show na 'to kasi maraming eksena na [I have to show my physique]. Tingnan natin, sana matuwa sila.”
Owe My Love will premiere on February 15, and will air weeknights at 9:35 p.m., on GMA Telebabad.
