Before his breakout TV series Coffee Prince, how did Ben got his second wind in the biz?

In 2011, actor Benjamin Alves took a hiatus from the entertainment industry to study English Literature at the University of Guam. When he came back in 2012, he became part of the  Philippine adaptation of the Korean drama Coffee Prince as Errol Ochoa. What happened in between, Ben reminisced recently on his Instagram.

He recalled, "Back in late 2011, when I was still a lanky kid going into his last semester in college (and having no idea what to do after), I visited the @gmanetwork building with @jonasofmercator. The first people I met here were Miss @annettegozon, Miss @tracymgarcia, Miss @aileenlota, and Sir @joeyabacan; they greeted me with excitement that took away whatever doubts I had that I could come back to showbiz."

The actor also narrated how GMA Network vice president for program management and GMA Network films project director Jose Mari "Joey" Abacan became his "first leading lady."

He expounded, "Did you know, prior to being given a contract, I had to do a script reading of #ThePromise on the spot with Sir Joey to see kung saan ako babagay na roles? You can say he was my first love team, my first leading lady heheh."

Benjamin also added, "Always nice to pay a visit here kasi parang it always feels like coming home and going full circle. Thank you guys. :) I love this place and it is home, because the people inside make me feel like so. Okay enough nostalgia, so much to look forward to. Good morning, happy Friday everyone!"
